Nonprofit Involvement
The Beatrice Martin Foundation
Director of Media & Communications
As Director of Media and Communications for the Beatrice Martin Foundation, a student-run nonprofit affiliated with the American Library Association, I lead media efforts to promote literacy for underrepresented youth. I manage branding, press, partnerships, and advocacy campaigns, while directing a volunteer team that produces daily content across social platforms. Our “Caution Tape” Banned Books Week initiative mobilized over 1,400 students with Golden State Readers! I also serve as a college essay editor, with all proceeds supporting youth literacy. With skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and digital strategy, I aim to deliver clear, impactful messaging that furthers our mission.
Vern Tutoring Classroom
Student Educator & Tutor
At Vern Tutoring, a student-run nonprofit providing free education to lower-income students, I’ve designed and taught original courses in creativity and entrepreneurship. I led a semester-long Creative Writing class for students in grades 4–7, and a four-day Entrepreneurship Camp for 29 students in grades 4–10. My business curriculum covered brand strategy, marketing, and analytics, and culminated in a pitch-deck style startup symposium. I developed all teaching materials from scratch and provided ongoing support to students throughout the week. I hope to make learning accessible, engaging, and practical for every student!
Faith Hope and Joy Foundation
Website & Organizational Outreach
At the Faith Hope and Joy Foundation, a community outreach organization serving under-advantaged communities, I built and managed the foundation’s website to help expand our reach and improve communication with partner organizations. My work focused on combining digital tools with hands-on service to support families in need.
VBC Houston
Children’s Worship & Youth Ministry Leader
For over four years, I’ve led weekly worship for a group of up to 60 children in Pre-K through 7th grade, helping them build confidence, compassion, and a sense of community through music and shared reflection. I also guide groups of 30-60 youth at conferences and special events, using piano, vocals, and public speaking to foster connection and belonging. This experience has deepened my understanding of group dynamics, communication across age groups, and the role of empathy in leadership.
